Even though RC Helicopters have really come down in price as of late, it’s still no fun crashing after just a few seconds of flight regardless how little you paid for your new toy.

I was tempted to just buy a real heli, instead of a simulator but I decided to listen to the advice of my friends and get a simulator instead.

I’m so glad I went that way, because since getting the thing I’ve had probably 200-300 crashes already.

I would highly recommend practicing on a simulator first, and then getting a real heli once you can fly on the simulator.

I ended up going with the G3 RealFlight R/C Flight Simulator package which comes with a realistic remote control that plugs into your computer and allows you to control the RC Helicopter exactly the same way you’d control one in real life.

RealFlight has since released the G5 version of the software which has even more features.  It looks like they offer an upgrade package from G3 to G5 as well.

While looking at the upgrade options I decided to look around and see what other RC Heli Simulators there are on the market now.
